Basecamp story
Overseen by Lucie Murphy, an East Greenwich mum with two daughters and a Mayoral Civic Award, the Basecamp team are local childcare and community professionals; former teachers, childminders, sports coaches, play workers and SEN specialists with a combined experience of 25 years.
Their aim was to offer enriching childcare in a secure and welcoming environment, and to make it affordable for local families.
This is why Basecamp was established to operate on a not-for-profit basis, to be a childcare provider with purpose.
In May 2022 Basecamp was awarded a contract by The Bridge, a venue familiar to many East Greenwich families, following its tender for a suitable childcare provider to operate from its premises.
Selected for being aligned with the community values of The Bridge, Basecamp has been located there since September 2022, providing childcare for 4-11 year olds before and after school and during school holidays.
Now well-established, highly valued and strongly recommended, Basecamp is proud to be a childcare provider with purpose.
As a not-for-profit organisation, without any commercial aims, Basecamp is able to focus entirely on quality of care and simply exists to serve and support local families.
